SweetHeart Lovely Keychain

Antara aktiviti di waktu lapang - design dan jahit PVC keychain. Makin hari rasa makin berbaloi bila dapat habiskan masa dengan benda2 berfaedah. Especially kalau anak2 dan hubby suka serta support. Bila diingatkan balik, rasa bertuah sangat coz masa sekolah rendah dulu, mama dah ajar menjahit (tangan dan mesin). So, bila dah besar camni, takderlah nak kena cari kelas jahitan. Bukan saja dapat jimat duit, bahkan boleh buat duit!

Moral of the story, kalau kita ada apa2 skill atau kelebihan, ajarkan pada anak2. Especially kalau anak dah tunjuk minat nak belajar. Setakat ni yang betul2 suka menjahit dan yang betul2 suka art, anak saya yang sulong, Aisyah. Dia suka sangat kalau tengok saya menjahit atau baking. Bila ada kesempatan, bila adik2 dia dah tido (tu pun dah tengah malam), boleh la saya bagi dia buat yang simple2. Tapi berjaga malam la jawabnya kami dua beranak... but it's worth it, coz dia happy... dan Alhamdulillah setakat ni, hasil dia cantik2 (^^).... betul2 anak mama... hehehe (mode perasan la tu... hihihi...)

Flower Patch

Xtvt time2 boring.... cari baju atau seluar anak2 yang lama atau yang takder decoration, cari idea nak buat design apa, reka2, then gunting kemudian jahit patches. Hasilnya.... kan cantik tu (mode perasan) hehehe.... apa yang penting, anak2 suka dan saya pun happy bila tengok mereka gembira bila pakai baju atau seluar tersebut.

Simplest design

Ada kawan yang tanya saya, saya attend kelas jahit ker? Err.... confuse jap nak jawab. Jahitan kat atas tu, rasa2nya simple jer. Tak perlu nak attend kelas. Kalau nak menyulam, maybe perlu attend kelas sulaman atau boleh refer buku bagi yang dah ada asas. Atau kalau nak jahit baju kurung etc. memang la perlu attend kelas jahit. Tapi, kalau setakat nak jahit patch ni, atau nak tampung baju yang koyak, rasanya tak perlu kot.

Saya tak pernah pulak attend mana2 kelas jahit. Tapi, maybe sebab masa sekolah rendah dulu mama dah pun ajar camner nak jahit, either jahit guna tangan atau jahit guna mesin, dua2 pun mama dah ajar dulu. So, kalau setakat nak jahit yang simple2 tu, insya Allah boleh la. Bila fikir2 balik kan, Alhamdulillah la mama sanggup nak ajar dulu, kalau tak, mesti sekarang ni merangkak2 kalau nak jahit baju... huhuhu....

Moral of the story, masa anak2 kecik ni, ajar la mereka semua kemahiran yang kita ada. Especially kalau mereka tunjuk minat pada satu2 kemahiran tu. At least bila dah besar nanti, mereka boleh berdikari. Betul tak? (^^)

Weekend jadi lebih bermakna bila dapat spend dengan anak2. Walaupun kadang tu, agak stress dengan gelagat mereka yang tak boleh duduk diam, tapi di situlah manisnya kehidupan... tulah yang hubby selalu pesan bila dia tengok saya stress sikit.... memang betul apa yang hubby pesan... bila anak2 happy, kita pun akan happy walaupun penat melayan segala karenah mereka... lagipun, bukankah anak merupakan amanah dari Allah? Buatlah yang terbaik untuk mereka, insya Allah besar ganjaran di sisi Allah....

Nama - Doa & Harapan

Just sharing my thoughts....

sekarang ni, ramai yang ketandusan idea bila nak namakan anak mereka. Kenapa yer? Maybe sebab mereka terlalu inginkan satu nama yang unik dan canggih coz dah jadi trend sekarang ni nama anak2 semuanya canggih2 belaka.

Bagi kami suami isteri, unik atau tidak, canggih atau tidak, semua tu tak penting. Apa yang penting pada nama adalah MAKSUD serta HURAIANnya kerana nama adalah DOA dan HARAPAN kita sebagai IBU BAPA terhadap anak2 yang dilahirkan. Baik maksud nama yang kita hadiahkan pada anak, insya Allah baik jugalah akhlaknya kerana setiap kali kita panggil dia dengan nama tersebut, kita sebenarnya sedang mendoakannya.

That's why, sejak sekolah rendah sampailah sekarang ni, bila saya introduce diri, saya akan sebut nama penuh, NAJDAH. Dan bila orang tanya saya nak panggil apa, saya akan jawab 'NAJDAH'. Nama pun dah singkat, rasanya tak perlu la nak disingkatkan lagi. Lagipun, nanti hilanglah maksud nama kalau dah disingkatkan. Tapi kan, ada jer yang singkatkan nama saya... huhuhu... sedih rasanya bila ada yang panggil dengan nama separuh ni... parents hadiahkan nama NAJDAH ni, walaupun tak seunik dan secanggih nama2 lain, merupakan doa dan harapan mereka supaya saya jadi hambaNya yang baik dan suka menolong orang. Hopefully, in future, semua kawan2 akan panggil saya NAJDAH, insya Allah....

Sales @ IPC

Got a message, notifying about a Sale going on at IPC (Ikano Power Centre) last weekend (Sept 30-Oct 2). Went there with hubby and Hifdzi (by bike), which was more convenient. Grab few shirts for Hifdzi.

Not much left when we got there. The price was ok. The design too. But didn't get a chance to look for more coz it was just a quick stop.

Merlin 4 - The Darkest Hour Snapshots

Few snapshots I took from Merlin Season 4 Premier - The Darkest Hour (Part 1). The season opening episode was a brilliant! Few touching scenes - between Arthur and his father, Uther, between Arthur and Gwen, also between Arthur and Merlin. The final scene was the best, when Merlin saved Arthur. It showed loyalty and friendship. Very sad scene... can't wait for the second part this Saturday!

Shopping With Fathi

Went shopping with Fathi one day. Just for an hour or so. Had to get the kids' 'Dugro'. We went to Giant. Didn't bring the rest coz it was just a quick stop. But bringing only one, didn't make it any simpler.... huhuhu...

New Blender

Refreshing home-made fruit juice

Got a new blender. Alhamdulillah and thank you hubby (^^). This one is much better than my old one. It has a bigger glass, with a lid. And the good thing is the lid has a spout. Makes it portable, indoor or even outdoor. How many blender can do that?

There a lots to tell my kids when they grow up. Stories of their upbringing. And lots to remember too...

One day, I'll read this again, and I shall be proud for having such a lovely kids... and for raising them on my own, no maid, no nanny or whatsoever.... just like my mama... Alhamdulillah....

My day starts before my kids' and ends long after theirs. If they go to bed at 12 midnight (which is every night), then I go to bed between 1am to 3am. Same goes with my hubby, coz he can only do his work when all the kids have gone to bed. Eventhough he got home at around 11-12, and he feels tired, but he stays awake just for the kids, or to help me with some of my houseworks. Love you hubby (^^).

Before we got our first child, we weren't used to sleep late at night. So, when we first got Aisyah, we always felt tired coz we always stayed up late. Aisyah cried a lot as a baby. She barely sleeps. Thought it might ended as she grew up, but till now, she doesn't sleep much. Ever since she was small, she only sleeps at night, midnight. No morning nap for her. In fact, all my kids are just the same. They wake up early in the morning, don't do much sleeping during the day, just sometimes some of them take a nap in the evening, then go to bed late at night.

At first, we felt so tired. But after a while, we started to get used to it, and now, not getting enough sleep at night, doesn't bother us anymore, Alhamdulillah.

A full-time housewife works 24/7 a week, 365 days a year. No MC, no planned leave or whatsoever. Sounds pretty bad aye? But it's actually every mother's DREAM! I say it again, it's every mother's DREAM to be a full-time housewife!! It may seem exhausting (which is true), but the 'reward,' the satisfaction of being able to do everything for your loved ones, makes it worth it!

Everyday I do the same thing - I cook, I do the laundry, fold the shirts, wash the dishes, clean and tidy up the house, prepare my kids for school, their uniforms and books, drive Aisyah to school in the afternoon and pick her up in the evening and etc. From time to time, there are additional 'jobs' for me, that is when Fathi or Hifdzi throws up. Or when the house is like a 'tongkang pecah,' which is a HUGE mess! Everyday!! Especially when I got home from sending Aisyah to school. Toys everywhere, in the rooms, both mine and the girls', in the living room and at the kitchen. And books and pencils scattered everywhere. Most of time, I need to tidy up couple of times a day. Kids! Come on, I just clean up the whole place!

Sometimes, I do get angry... well, most of time! But hubby always tells me to be patient. Our kids are gifts from Allah. It's our responsibility to raise them, to teach them and to protect them. It's also our responsibility to do the best for them. Sometimes we just forgot the responsibilities lie on our shoulders. Alhamdulillah hubby always reminds me things that I always forgot. Thank you hubby...

My 'jobs' get even more when hubby got even busier with his work, business, usrah and social activities. Before, hubby always does the monthly shopping. But now, it is up to me. It's a bit fun though coz I do need my 'therapy' (^^). Don't get me wrong, it's not the 'shopping', but the 'got to go out' thing (^^). I don't quite fancy 'shopping' itself coz I have nothing much to buy. Our monthly shopping is just the kids' diapers and milks, some groceries and? and nothing more... that's all.

Sometimes, I do feel tired... but hubby always reminds me that it's his duty as a Muslim to do all the things that he's been doing the whole time. And it's my duty to 'guard' our home, to take care of our kids and to support him. To 'steal' his time, is to 'steal' everyone's time! But he always spends his time with us when he can. That's the best thing about him. He always cares.

Actually, I don't mind hubby going out with his friends, or coming home late coz I know him, I know his friends. I know where he goes, what he does. I wont question him. Only sometimes I do get sulky, that is when I feel very extremely tired, when our kids acting up. But after listening to his advice, I always feel bad. I'm not supposed to get sulky coz we as Muslims do have our responsibilities, not just towards ourselves, our families and friends, but towards the Ummah. We are after all 'Khalifah'!

Few years from now, I'm gonna read this with hubby, and it shall remind us of our 'journey' together in raising our kids. And we would feel great and grateful to Allah for all His blessings.... Alhamdulillah....

After I finished working with the kids' tudung, I started with mine... hehehe... want my tudung to look beautiful too (^^)...

[ A friend asked me if I'd went to a sewing class (after seeing my girls' tudung). Err... nope! I've never went to any sewing class. The only 'teacher' I have is my MAMA. She taught me of sewing, knitting, crocheting, baking and many more when I was just a kid (in Primary School). Thanx to her I know a lot of things and able to create wonderful things... me being a bit creative, I got that from her (^^)... and I will pass it down to my kids... insya Allah... ]

These are for hubby to bring to his office today. Notice the chips? I had to use the strawberry chips instead of the usual chocolate chips. Ran out of chocolate chips after finished baking Aisyah's muffins.

Jamuan Raya @ SA KAFA Integrasi Al-Muhtadin

This morning Aisyah's school had a 'Jamuan Raya'. Yesterday she told me that her teacher told her to bring something. So, I made some chocolate muffin for her, and for my hubby too coz his company is also having 'Jamuan Raya' today. Syukur I have all the necessary ingredients in my kitchen. Hope they enjoy the muffin (^^).

On The Road Again

Want to have this memory treasured in my mind... but we all know the fact that our brain will get rusty... huhuhu.... just in case it went missing, I think it's best to keep it here....

Got my license when I was in High School. Got all the answers right, along with my sister, Deena in the exam. That time we had to answer 50 Qs I think. We both scored 50/50 (felt proud.... hehehe). Also scored during the test drive (parking and up-the-hill drive). But unfortunately, didn't pass the test drive on the road coz I got to drive in the 'Kampung' area. Was nervous 'bout the cows and bikers along the way. Couldn't concentrate with the driving... huhuhu...

So, I had to take another test. Syukur I got to drive on the main road this time. It was smooth and easy (^^). Got my license then. Yeay! hehehe...

After we both got our license, we drove once to school for a marching rehearsal. It was evening and we got home around 7pm. Deena drove on the way to school, while I drove on the way back. It was the first time I drove after getting my license, so yeah, I wasn't being really good at it. I forgot to turn on the head light eventhough it was dark! Our brother followed from behind coz he was worried... hehehe....

And that was the last we drove the car!!

For about 3 years I didn't drive, not even once! I started to get behind the wheels again when I was in my final year at UiTM. Syukur I managed to handle the car. My friends even nominated me as the fastest driver among us!! huhuhu... couldn't believe it!

Then, I got married. I drove once, on our way back to KT from KB. Hubby was tired, so I took over. Few minutes later, I got a speeding ticket!!... uwaaa......... sob sob.... so, hubby had to take over...

That was the last I ever drove... sad....

Now, the time has come for me to drive again.... me? get on the road again? after many years.... 8 to be exact! was quite a challenge for me. But, for the sake of my kids, Aisyah especially coz I need to send her to school, I tried. Syukur I was able to drive our car, which to me was quite 'big' and 'heavy'. Plus, it's a MANUAL car! Have to change the gear manually! But Alhamdulillah, I'm getting used to it. Now, even if people keep telling me to change to auto, I would pass coz I like manual.

From day to day I have more and more confidence to drive. Up to now, the farthest I ever go to is my hubby's company, at Damansara Height. I drove him once. And yeah, I felt proud... hehehe....

So, that's the story.... one day, when I read it back, I shall remember all the good times - when my friends screamed as I drove, when I got the speeding ticket... huhuhu.... and etc. (^^)

Painting Project

Since we were gonna have an Open House last few weeks, we did some painting coz our house was 'decorated' by the kids.... they are soo 'artistic' (^^)

First day, we painted in the evening.... the kids weren't asleep, except Hifdzi... but when he woke up.... boy! he ate the paint!! so, we decided to wait till they all fell asleep.

The 2nd day (which was the night before our Open House), the kids were asleep, except Amal - she purposedly stay awake to help with the painting. We started at 12 midnight and ended at 3 in the morning. Amal? Still have the energy to continue, if we were to continue....

The kids' tudung were quite 'dull' (to me)... so I thought of a way to make it 'alive'. Last month I bought Aisyah a tudung with beautiful flower embroidery. I thought, maybe I can make up something like that. So, off to Memori Hati (sewing store), grab few accessories (acrylic stone) and few other things.

Started my sewing project as soon as I got home. The kids were so excited. They couldn't wait to put them on (^^).

Day 1 : Thursday, Sept 15, 2011 - We left home at 9:30am. Left our car with hubby's bro. Took ERL from Putrajaya to KLIA. Flight (Firefly) departed at 1:05pm. Arrived at Kuching Airport at 2:50pm. Took a cab to Tune for RM26. Checked in. Put our bags and solat. Took a walk, crossed the river. Bought our dinner, Kue Teow and Mee goreng for RM5 each. Enjoy the night view at the river. There were few 'Kapal Berhias' rehearsing for Sarawak Regatta. Back to our room. Tidy up a bit then nite nite ya all!! Exhausted!!

Hmm.... this is actually an old entry.... didn't get any chance to post it before, got 'trapped' in houseworks and business... plus, just got back from vacation :)

Know the bug? Well, one day it 'came' to our house. Guess what Hifdzi did to it. He took it with his bare hand, we thought he was gonna play with it, but shockingly, he put it in his mouth!! Yikes! Syukur we were watching, otherwise the bug would have been his snack! (^^)

Blended mango & ice blended bandung

How much does it cost for a glass of ice blended? Around RM3-5. Right? So, why waste your money? Just do it yourself. It's so simple.... a piece of cake! Plus, you'll get whatever flavour you like, whenever you want or how many glasses...

These I made for my kids (and of course for hubby and me too).... last week I think... It was refreshing.... yummy.... better than the one you get from outside...

Wanna try? Get some mangos, cut into pieces, put it in the blender, put some chilled water, some sweetened milk, then blend! Put some ice cubes if you like. Voila!

Ice blended? Put some ice cubes in a cup (a lot, 3/4 cup), some fruit juice (your favourite flavor), some water (just to 'move' the blender) and blend! Try it!

Friday, 26th Aug 2011 : Hit the road after Solat Jumaat. Too many cars.... traffic was slow.... so we decided to use the LPT... it took us about 9 hours to get to Kelantan.... such a long journey, but it was ok coz the traffic was smooth....

Cepat jer masak guna PC ni.... jimat masa dan tenaga....

Antara favourite dessert saya.... bubur kacang campur pulut hitam.... best sangat! Lagi-lagi kalau sejuk (dah masuk fridge). Dulu, kalau rasa nak makan, beli jer coz tak rajin nak masak... maklumlah, kacang hijau nak kena rendam dulu. Pulut hitam pulak lambat masak. Tapi beli pun, kat luar mana ada jual yang mixed camni.... boleh makan pulut hitam jer la....

Bila dah ada PC ni, Alhamdulillah, boleh masak sendiri.... MUDAH dan CEPAT. 20 minit jer dah lembut kacang ngan pulut hitam tu. Kacang tak yah rendam pun. Thanx to hubby coz beli PC ni.... masak banyak-banyak, boleh bagi kat jiran-jiran.... Alhamdulillah....

Alhamdulillah, last Saturday was able to go for shopping at The Store to get some new clothes for the kids (esp Fathi & Hifdzi coz they haven't got any). This time, I went with Aisyah ONLY! The rest... stay at home with dear hubby... hehehe....

When we got there, the place is flooded with people.... already!! It was only 10 in the morning.... wow!!

After a quick grab, paid for the shirts (after a long queue), went home. We spent only 3 hours. Imagine how long would it take if we decided to bring all 5!! huhuhu....

Cute Cuppies for Aisyah

Tips for moms who think their kids' clothes are 'dull'. Make yourself a cute assorted design patches, then just sew it on... easy peesy...

You can use either some old cloth that you are no longer using (some old shirts), or you can just get this fabric-like paper (forgot its name) at any stationery store.

It comes in 10 colors each pack and it costs less than RM4. Fun way to 'glamorize' your kids' shirts (^_^)

All time favorite

Had this for berbuka one day (side dish), and another day for 'moreh' at home (^_^).... the kids asked for it.... and today?? perhaps.... huhuhu.... didn't matter though, as long as the kids (Aisyah and Amal) are happy and willingly to keep on fasting till the end.... insya Allah....

Sometimes, I don't really prefer to prepare this myself coz it might get overcooked if not being careful (ie. leave it unattended in the wok to attend the kids).... and you know how it looks like when it's overcooked (hangus)... and the taste.... eee.... but now that I have my beloved Pressure Cooker.... hehehe.... I'm ready to prepare anything.... just keep it coming boyz and gurlz.... mama is on the 'move'.... \^^/

What's so special about the PC? This is what :

~ No more 'burning' food coz so far, if I let the fries unattended in the PC, it won't get overcooked, which would normally be when using normal wok.

~ Save lots of cooking time ie. Nasi Beriyani cooked in just 7-8 mins! Wow!!

~ Craving for fried rice but not in the mood to get messy? No worries coz I'm able to prepare it in a jiffy and without a fuss coz the PC does it all!!

BPA Free Bottle - Pureen

New BPA-free bottles for our kids

Since the gov banned the BPA milk bottles (read it HERE), we decided to change all our kids' bottles. But actually, long before that, I already had the intention to do so coz Tupperware had brought the issue of 'Danger of using plastic bottles' for ages. In fact, I even bought Tupperware's milk bottles last year, only the problem is, it's quite difficult to replace the teats. Yes, Tupperware does provide extra teats (sold separately), but the cost for each are way too expensive. If it lasts long enough, it's surely worth it, but sadly no....

So, we bought new bottles instead - Pureen. Easy to get the bottles (sold almost at every shopping mall I think), easy to change the teats! And most importantly (for those who have color concerns), comes in choices of colors... hehehe....

Satu lagi kisah yang bagi saya dapat memberi peringatan buat diri yang lemah ini.... (juga mengenai Puan L....)

Kisah 2

Sebelum A dan isterinya tunjuk peluang perniagaan yang mereka jalankan pada Puan L, mereka pernah bantu Puan L. Even setelah menjadi business partner, mereka selalu bantu Puan L (mostly dari sudut kewangan). Walaupun setelah Puan L 'rujuk' dengan bekas suaminya, mereka still bantu Puan L dan suaminya selagi mampu walaupun pada hakikatnya Puan L dan suaminya lebih berkemampuan dari A...

Selepas berlaku beberapa kes yang kurang menyenangkan, kepercayaan kepada Puan L berkurangan. Last-last, A dan isterinya dapat berita yang Puan L dan suaminya bercerai buat kali ke dua. Astaghfirullahalazim.... perkahwinan dah jadi macam permainan! Bernikah kemudian bercerai sesuka hati!

Tak lama lepas tu, bekas suami Puan L (Encik H) tiba-tiba minta A supaya pinjamkan duit dalam amaun yang sangat banyak (ribuan) kepada bekas isterinya, Puan L. Katanya Puan L perlukan duit untuk sara hidupnya dan 2 orang anaknya, tapi dia tak mampu untuk provide dalam masa yang singkat. Katanya lagi Puan L memintanya supaya meminta dari A dan dia akan pinjam dari 'ALONG' sekiranya Encik H tak mintak! Ya Allah! Terkejut A dan isterinya, tak tau apa nak kata!

A dikejutkan lagi dengan sms dari Puan L meminta 'Ihsan' darinya supaya bantu 'Ibu Tunggal' (Puan L) yang 'dianiayai' oleh bekas suaminya.... Puan L memang 'layak' dibantu HANYA sekiranya :

~ Dia tak mampu untuk cari pendapatan sendiri.

~ Dia seorang yang jujur (betul-betul perlukan bantuan ie. betul-betul kebuntuan) dan bukan sekadar mencari jalan senang.

Tapi, kedua-dua kriteria kat atas tu langsung takder pada Puan L. Dia seorang yang sempurna sifat (sempurna tubuh badan). Allah kurniakannya banyak kelebihan yang boleh digunakan untuk menjana pendapatan yang sangat lumayan. Antaranya, dia pandai mengajar, pandai menjual, dan dengan senang dia boleh dapatkan duit yang diperlukan, malah lebih lagi dari tu.

Sebenarnya, Puan L jauh lebih kaya dari A! Gaya hidupnya, cara pemakanannya yang mewah... boleh dikatakan tiap hari dia makan di restaurant!

Atas sebab-sebab tersebut, A tak dapat pinjamkan duit pada Puan L. Lagipun, A perlu simpan duit reserve dia untuk beberapa urusan penting. But still, A dan isterinya sudi menghulurkan sedekah pada Puan L, atas perasaan simpati mereka. Tapi, kesudian mereka dibalas dengan sms yang sangat-sangat menyedihkan...

Puan L menuduh A tidak ada rasa 'Ihsan' padanya, seorang 'Ibu Tunggal' yang teraniaya... katanya lagi, Allah tidak akan ada rasa ihsan pada A! Astaghfirullahalazim.... sampai begitu sekali tuduhan Puan L.... sangat mengejutkan A dan isterinya.... lupakah Puan L siapa yang sudi hulurkan bantuan padanya tatkala tiada yang sudi menolong?... dan siapa pula yang memberi peluang perniagaan padanya supaya dia dapat menjadikan hidupnya lebih baik?...

Kisah ni banyak memberi peringatan pada saya supaya :

~ Sentiasa bersyukur atas setiap kurniaan Allah.... bagaimana? Hulurkan sebahagian dari rezki yang kita dapat pada yang memerlukan.... daripada ber'boros' di restaurant, lebih baik kita menjamu anak yatim atau para mustadh'afiin (fakir miskin). Barulah duit kita jadi berkat.

~ Sentiasa 'menoleh' kepada yang kurang berada dari kita coz dengan cara tu barulah kita akan bersyukur.

~ Sentiasa hargai sahabat - kenang jasanya, hargai pemberiannya dan berterima kasih atas setiap pertolongan yang diberikan walau sekecil mana sekalipun.

~ Sentiasa ber'husnudzzon' dengan semua orang dan sentiasa mendoakan kebaikan buat mereka even if ada yang melakukan keburukan pada kita.

Semoga kisah ni dapat memberi peringatan pada kita semua...

Kisah Teladan 1 - Kurang Rasa Bersyukur

"Dalam dunia ni, ada macam-macam jenis manusia, barulah hidup kita ni berwarna-warni... itulah indahnya hidup ni....".... hubby saya selalu cakap camni bila saya query tentang gelagat manusia yang 'pelik'.

Kat sini, ada dua kisah yang bagi saya boleh dijadikan sebagai peringatan buat diri dan juga sebagai panduan dalam menjalani kehidupan sebagai 'Khalifah' di atas muka bumi Allah ni...

Kisah 1

Si A dan isterinya menjalankan satu bisnes secara sambilan. Melalui bisnes tersebut, mereka dapat bantu family dan kawan-kawan mereka untuk mudahkan kerja-kerja rumah sambil jimat belanja bulanan. Ramai di kalangan rakan-rakan mereka yang jadi business partner. Tak kurang juga kenalan baru. Dan di antara kenalan baru mereka, seorang ibu tunggal (bercerai) yang mempunyai 2 orang anak lelaki (sekolah rendah) di bawah jagaannya dan 2 orang lagi (sekolah rendah dan menengah) di bawah jagaan suami.

Mereka share tentang peluang business yang mereka jalankan dengan ibu tunggal tersebut (Puan L) kerana mereka lihat Puan L sangat berpotensi untuk berjaya - hardworking, tak segan dengan orang dan suka bercakap. Selain dari tu, Puan L ni memiliki sebuah Taska Islam yang berjaya. Ramai yang sanggup hantar anak mereka ke taska tersebut walaupun kosnya tinggi kerana mereka yakin dengan Puan L.

Disebabkan Puan L ni suka bercerita, sekejap jer dia dah dapat sale. Bukan tu jer, ramai kawan-kawan dia yang jadi business partner. Peluang untuk Puan L berjaya dalam business ni memang cerah, malah, dia boleh berjaya dengan lebih cepat berbanding A dan isterinya kalau dia bersungguh-sungguh.

Tapi.... sometime, things happen beyond expectation! Puan L selalu mengeluh... "I TAK dapat buat la business ni.... takder orang nak beli..." (sedangkan ramai yang dah jadi business partner dia). "I TAK boleh la nak tinggal anak-anak I... nanti siapa nak bagi makan..." (sedangkan anak-anak dia dah besar - boleh suap makanan sendiri dan dia hanya perlu tinggalkan anak-anak dia untuk 3 jam di rumah sendiri yang selamat untuk ke kelas sekali seminggu). "I TAK boleh jual la... takder orang nak beli..." (sedangkan dia mempunyai ramai customer). Dan yang paling unsangkarable (tak di sangka), Puan L tutup taska dia! Dan macam-macam lagilah karenah dan sikap Puan L yang kurang menyenangkan.

Terkejut A dan isterinya bila Puan L mula menunjukkan sikapnya yang sebenar. Memang benar ungkapan "Don't judge a book by its cover"!

Sebenarnya, Puan L dikurniakan Allah banyak kelebihan. Antaranya adalah :
~ Mempunyai kebolehan mengajar budak-budak hinggakan mampu memiliki sebuah taska yang berjaya dan dipercayai.
~ Tak malu untuk bercerita hinggakan dia berjaya mempunyai ramai customer dalam masa yang singkat (berbanding A dan isterinya yang dapat 1st customer hanya lepas 6 bulan jalankan business).
~ Anak-anak dah besar, boleh dibawa bersama semasa menjalankan business (berbanding A dan isterinya yang ada ramai anak yang masih kecil dan tak boleh dibawa bersama semasa berbisnes).
Pengajaran dari kisah ni :
~ Jaga kepercayaan yang diberikan kepada kita kerana once kita 'khianat' kepercayaan tersebut, orang dah susah nak percaya kat kita.
~ Bersyukur atas semua kelebihan yang Allah berikan pada kita dan gunakan kelebihan tersebut untuk melakukan kebaikan.
~ Ikhlaskan niat dalam membantu orang dan sentiasa bersikap jujur dalam setiap perbuatan (samaada dalam berniaga, bersahabat juga dalam hubungan suami isteri).
~ Always make sure yang sebahagian dari pendapatan kita disalurkan ke tempat yang sepatutnya (zakat, infaq, ibu bapa etc.) kerana bila pendapatan kita 'bersih', insya Allah dapat berkat, dan bila dah berkat, insya Allah kita akan sentiasa rasa cukup.
~ Always talk in positive way coz kita boleh dengar setiap ungkapan kita, thus otak kita akan simpan kata-kata tersebut ke dalam subconscious mind and finally kita akan bertindak mengikut kata-kata tadi.

Conclusion dari kisah ni, always bersyukur atas segala kurniaan Allah, always bersikap jujur dalam setiap perbuatan, always appreciate semua opportunity yang kita dapat.

Recycle For Charity 'box' near Mutiara Damansara

Yesterday I 'talked' about clearing the kids' wardrobe, and I mentioned that I got all the undersized shirts packed. For what actually? Why does it need to be packed? Well, this is the reason - for charity. The shirts, eventhough are small (for my kids), but they are still in good condition (can still be worn). So, why waste? It's better to donate it rather than just throw it away coz who knows, there might be some kids out there who would really be happy to get those shirts.

So, to those out there who happen to have some old stuff, usefull stuff that no longer 'serve' you, let them 'serve' someone else, someone who's in need. Especially during Ramadhan coz for every good deed you do in this very month, you'll get more 'PAHALA' than in any usual month.

So, why wait! (^_^)

For this coming Syawal

Last weekend, I got the chance to go through the kids' wardrobe (which I haven't done for about a year now).... and Masya Allah, surprisingly, the kids have grown up so fast! Almost 70% of the shirts are undersized. Seemed like time to pack all the shirts now! And it also means, time to get some new shirts!

Bought the 'Watch Out' blouse last week, for Aisyah, Amal and Anis, all the same size. Thought of getting different sizes, but they all are about the same. The cashier asked me "Kembar ker kak?" hehehe.... I answered "Taklah... tapi nak sama besar..."

Then, on our way back from biz class yesterday, 'bumped' into 'The Store Warehouse Sales'. So.... hehehe.... had a quick stop, picked some blouses, 6 to be exact (2 for each Aisyah, Amal and Anis) and 2 pants for Aisyah. None for Fathi and Hifdzi coz couldn't fine any. As if the sale was only for gurlz... huhuhu....

Still, need to do some more shopping before Syawal, esp for Fathi and Hifdzi.... google+ing for more warehouse sales around Sg Buloh... hehehe....

Terawih Di Rumah

Semalam terawih di rumah bersama anak-anak. Malam-malam sebelumnya, Aisyah dan Amal ikut hubby ke surau, tapi kebetulan semalam hubby ada jemputan berbuka dan terawih di rumah Mentor kami, so anak-anak berterawih dengan saya jer lah kat rumah.

Sebenarnya, walaupun tak dapat ke surau tak bermakna kita tak dapat nak terawih. Kat rumah pun boleh, asalkan ada kemahuan. Mostly, kaum wanita yang ada anak kecik, agak kurang senang untuk ke surau coz takut anak-anak meragam. So, pilihannya, terawih kat rumah dengan anak-anak.

Cabaran tu mesti ada... kat mana-mana pun, tak kira apa yang kita buat, mesti ada cabaran. Macam saya, cabaran setiap kali solat, Fathi akan datang panjat. Kalau time saya sujud, dia panjat belakang, macam panjat kuda. Dia takkan turun. Hatta kalau saya bangun rakaat seterusnya pun dia akan bergayut kat belakang.

Different people akan handle situasi ni in different ways. Saya? Saya just biarkan jer, tak marah coz dia still kecik. Just pesan dia jangan buat lagi dah next time coz if saya marah dia akan lebih agresif. If saya pesan, next time dia still buat, tapi sekejap jer. Pastu dia akan beredar.

Dulu masa budak-budak, saya dan kakak-kakak berterawih ngan mama kat rumah jer, tiap-tiap malam. Seronok sangat coz kami dapat baca doa ikut turn - malam ni kakak saya Ibtisam, esok kakak saya Deena pulak, malam seterusnya saya. Sampai pada satu saat, kami dah boleh ingat doa yang dibaca selepas solat terawih.... best kan (^_^)

Tapi, sekarang dah tak ingat dah doa tu... huhuhu... budak-budak punya RAM memang kuat kan... that's why kena install dua software utama 'Iman' dan 'Islam' dari dalam kandungan lagi...

Ranking no 2 (no 1 is Merlin) in my Favorite TV Shows list is the famous TV Series, The Mentalist. Outranking Criminal Minds (now no 3), this TV series is unique in its own way.

Watching this series, makes us understand how human body reacts to our mind. Sometimes people are trying to hide something but unconsciously their body betrays them. It's amazing how our brain works, how it manages to control our body. Subhanallah, praise to Allah!...

I like how Jane (a CBI Consultant) works, how he solves a case. So unique, fun and amazing. He sees something unusual in what other people see as normal. He's able to manipulate people in so many ways. And most of time, he's able to drive people crazy (^_^), especially Lisbon (CBI Agent Teresa Lisbon).

Joining them is a beautiful 'Probie', Grace Van Pelt, a serious looking ex-gang, Agent Kimball Cho and a tough but low self confidence agent, Wayne Rigsby.

Semalam sementara tunggu azan Maghrib, bukak TV9. Kebetulan masa tu ada siaran 'Ini Kisahku'. Terharu bila dengar kisah Cat (Catriona Ross)... bagaimana dia mendapat Hidayah Allah.... syukur Alhamdulillah.... mudah-mudahan Allah melindungi Cat dari sebarang fitnah dunia, dan mudah-mudahan Allah pelihara imannya....

Dan tadi tengok kisah Sham Kamikaze pulak... tapi sempat tengok halfway jer coz ada urusan....

Sebenarnya dah lama TV kat rumah ni tak terusik coz takder cerita yang bermanfaat, especially cerita melayu (sorry to say)... tapi bila tengok kisah ni, rasa bestnyer kalau banyak kisah-kisah macam ni yang ditayangkan....

Though Season 4 hasn't aired yet (in fact, it's still filming in Pierrefonds, France and Cardiff, Wales) and there is no telling of how it's gonna end or what's the fate of Merlin and the 'brothers', but the fact that FreemantleMedia is commissioning a 5th series, is a truly great news!!

There are spoilers and rumor of what's happening in the 4th series - Morgana becoming the evil witch (as addressed by Kilgharrah in some episode), Gwen becoming the Queen of Camelot (as in the legend), Arthur becoming the King etc, but the best of all, Merlin will appear as Dragon The Great once again! The fourth series of the hit show Merlin hasn't aired yet, but that hasn't stopped FreemantleMedia from commissioning a fifth series! Here are all the details from the press release, along with some Comic-con photos and stay tuned to Pop Culture Zoo as we will bring you tidbits from the actors in the press room as well as some more candid photos!

It was announced Sunday at Comic-Con that hit television show MERLIN, produced and created by Shine TV, has been commissioned for a fifth season by the BBC. The news was revealed during a special MERLIN panel at Comic-Con International panel on Sunday, July 24 that featured cast members Anthony Head, Bradley James, Katie McGrath and Colin Morgan, and executive producers and co-creators Johnny Capps and Julian Murphy.

MERLIN airs on Syfy in the United States. Season four will premiere in early 2012.

MERLIN’s success and popularity continues to flourish across the globe, FME, who has invested in the fifth season of MERLIN alongside UK broadcaster BBC One, has now sold MERLIN to over 52 broadcasters in more than 183 countries including Syfy (USA), RTL (Germany), Disney (South America), Canal + (France) and Network 10 (Australia).

David Ellender, Global CEO, FME commented, “With MERLIN now in 183 countries and both a fourth and fifth season underway, it is a truly global brand. The fourth season of the fantasy drama, which is currently being filmed in Pierrefonds, France and Cardiff, Wales, will begin airing in Autumn 2011 on BBC One in the UK, and in early 2012 on Syfy in the US.

The third season, which was broadcast in winter 2010, pulled in the highest UK ratings for the drama so far, with a weekly average of over 6 million viewers and a total of 24.3% share of the audience.

Launched in 2008, MERLIN tells the story of young Merlin in Camelot as he comes to grips with his powers and destiny. The epic fourth season of MERLIN sees Camelot on the brink of a Golden Age as the familiar blend of magic, mystery and action adventure returns. With Morgana now a dangerous outcast, Merlin must use all his power to ensure that Arthur fulfils his destiny as the Once and Future King. No further details about plot or characters have been revealed yet for the fifth season.

MERLIN stars Colin Morgan as Merlin, Bradley James as Prince Arthur, Anthony Head as King Uther, Katie McGrath as Morgana, Angel Coulby as Gwen, Richard Wilson as Gaius and John Hurt as the voice of the Great Dragon. For the 2nd time, Fathi went missing!...

Hubby took him to the surau last weekend for a gathering, along with Aisyah, Amal and Anis. And as usual, Amal and Anis went to the playground just outside the surau. All of a sudden, Fathi went missing! Normally, he would join the rest at the playground. But this time, he went out on the street! Syukur the guard saw him and took him to the post guard.

After hubby took him back, a kid told him that he saw Fathi almost got hit by a car whilst crossing the street!! Ya Allah!! Syukur the car managed to stop. Oh Fathi!! I'm so grateful to Allah for protecting him from harm... syukur....

Series 4 of Merlin will air in autumn 2011. Its air date is not yet known. The series was originally cut to ten episodes from the previous series' 13 due to financial issues. It was deemed better to reduce the length of the series and maintain the quality rather than staying with 13 episodes but having to reduce the budget and therefor the quality for each. It was also originally rumored to air in early 2012, later than its usual slot in autumn so that it wouldn't clash with Autumn half of Doctor Who Series 6 running in the same period. However, Johnny Capps revealed on 18 March 2011 that the show has been increased to its original 13 episodes, opening with a two-parter. Filming started in mid-March 2011. Block 1 at Pierrefonds finished May 20th and the cast and crew should return to France for Block 2, starting June 20th and continuing until June 24th. This season is said to be darker than the rest, with the other three having a few violent scenes, and this one having much more. Most characters will show a darker side to their personality. Colin Morgan has revealed that Merlin series 4 will air in September or October 2011.

Cikgu : "TAK Boleh!!"

Hari ni, lagi sekali Aisyah bagitau saya cikgu tak bagi dia ke toilet! Adoi la... dah la anak mama yang sorang ni tak tahan kencing. Cikgu pulak, semua tak bagi!! Masa belajar takleh gi toilet, masa perhimpunan lagi lah! Masa rehat jer yang boleh. Dah la masa rehat 20 min jer. Time tu lah budak2 nak makan, time tu jugaklah budak2 nak solat, dan time tu jugaklah budak2 nak kencing! Err... cukup ker agak2nyer?... belum campur ngan nak 'berebut' dengan ratusan pelajar lain (darjah 1 sajer dah lebih 500 orang!).

Memang la apa yang cikgu buat tu ada reason dia - maybe dia takut budak2 gi main, bukannya gi toilet. Tapi, rasanya cikgu boleh kenal budak2, yang mana betul2 nak gi toilet dan yang mana tak. Aisyah ni memang sensitif sikit (cikgu dia pun tahu), kalau cikgu marah dia takut dan tak berani, walaupun dia memang dah tak tahan sangat2 nak kencing, tapi once cikgu kata "TAK boleh!", 'kecut' la dia...

Cikgu sekolah dia ni 'macam2' sikit, ada yang style suka denda - sorang jer bising, satu kelas dia denda! Bukan nak salahkan cikgu tu, maybe dia stress coz pelajar ramai. Tapi, at least denda lah yang bising jer... kesian Aisyah, dalam kelas pendiam, tak berani pun nak bising, apatah lagi nak berjalan sana sini dalam kelas... tup tup, kena denda jugak!

Hopefully sekolah baru cepat2 lah buka, kesian kat pelajar2 coz too crowded, dan kesian kat cikgu2 jugak coz kena jaga ramai student yang macam2 ragam dan perangai. Pada cikgu2 yang dapat bersabar dengan karenah2 pelajar yang ramai - I salute you! ...while the rest - I pray for you to be patient... (^_^)

Dah berhari Amal gesa suruh beli beg sekolah dia. Beg yang dia bawak gi sekolah tu yang Aisyah punya dulu. Masa awal tahun dulu, beg tu elok lagi. Suruh la dia guna yang tu dulu coz tak nak ajar membazir. Sekarang dah rosak, boleh la belikan satu untuk dia. Lagi pun, memang tak pernah lagi beli beg untuk dia. Kesian jugak, asyik amik yang Aisyah jer...

So, bila dapat beg semalam, happy la Amal... lagi bersemangat nak gi sekolah. Awal2 lagi dia dah masukkan buku dia dalam beg baru...

Kadang2, bila anak baru mula sekolah, kita rasa macam2 perlu beli. Tapi, sebenarnya apa yang perlu dibeli hanyalah barang yang belum ada atau yang dah rosak. Tak semestinya setiap tahun bila sekolah baru buka, kita kena beli beg baru, baju baru, kasut baru, semuanya baru sedangkan yang tahun lepas masih elok lagi.

Sayangkan anak bukan bererti kita perlu manjakan dia dengan kemewahan, sebaliknya kerana sayangkan anak lah kita perlu mengajar mereka nilai2 murni, eg. berjimat cermat dalam berbelanja.

Hifdzi; Di Sebalik Nama

Hifdzi, tersenyum riang...

Hifdzi... ramai yang jarang dengar nama tersebut. Kebanyakan orang lebih sinonim dengan 'Hafiz' atau 'Hafizi'. Ada juga yang bertanya apa maksud nama tersebut? Bagaimana pula ejaan Jawinya?...

Nama merupakan doa dan harapan kedua ibu bapa terhadap anak yang dilahirkan. Setiap kali kita memanggilnya dengan nama tersebut, kita sebenarnya sedang mendoakannya. Itulah antara sebab mengapa kami suami isteri lebih gemar memanggil anak2 kami dengan nama mereka berbanding gelaran 'kakak', 'adik', 'along', 'angah' dsb.

Dan sebab itu jugalah saya lebih gemar kawan2 memanggil saya dengan nama yang diberikan oleh kedua ibu bapa saya, NAJDAH berbanding gelaran atau nama singkatan yang diberikan oleh kawan2. Semenjak dari sekolah rendah, hinggalah ke sekolah menengah, malah di Universiti sekalipun, saya tak pernah introduce diri saya dengan sebarang nama singkatan. Najdah bermaksud 'Pertolongan/Penolong'. Mudah2an dengan memanggil saya 'Najdah', sahabat2 mendoakan saya supaya menjadi hambaNya yang suka menolong orang.

Semasa mengandungkan Hifdzi, kami belum finalize nama yang ingin diberikan. Hubby ada suggest satu nama, tapi instinct saya kuat mengatakan nama tersebut kurang sesuai. Kami ingin berikan nama tokoh2 Islam padanya dengan harapan agar dia membesar menjadi hambaNya yang soleh, insya Allah.

Banyak nama yang saya google di sini. Tapi masih belum ada yang berkenan di hati. Hinggalah setelah melahirkan...

Hubby selalu ceritakan pada saya tentang sahabat2nya, semuanya baik2 dan berjaya. Dan dia selalu cakap, kebanyakan orang yang memiliki nama yang sama mempunyai personaliti yang lebih kurang sama. Saya pun bertanya hubby, siapakah di antara sahabat2nya yang dia rasakan paling baik?

Hifdzi, atau Uncle Hifdzi (gelaran yang dipanggil oleh anak2 kami) merupakan sahabat karib hubby semenjak di KIK. Dia seorang yang sangat baik. Setiap kali kami ke rumahnya, perbualannya sentiasa mengingatkan kami pada Yang Esa. Walaupun penampilannya tak menyerupai seorang ustaz, tapi ilmunya sangat tinggi.

Hifdzi, memberi makna 'Ingatanku'. (Ejaan Jawi 'Ha Fa Dzo Ya'). Tafsirannya : mudah2an anak yang dilahirkan akan sentiasa mengingatkan kami kepada Yang Esa kerana Dialah yang mengurniakan kami anak tersebut.

Doa kami, semoga Hifdzi menjadi anak yang soleh, yang sentiasa taat kepada perintah Agama, yang bertaqwa serta yang sentiasa ikhlas dalam melakukan amal ibadah... insya Allah, amiin....

Lessons I've Learnt

Yesterday was a bit hectic. Aisyah had an Isra' Mi'raj program at her Islamic School. Then I had to see her teacher to take her record book. I had to drive up the hill... a very steep hill... and for the 1st time! So yeah, I was nervous... but Syukur, I made it well, eventhough it was a bit rainy, and with Fathi and Hifdzi at the passenger seat.

Then at noon, as usual, I drove Aisyah to her Kebangsaan School. And as any other day, I had Hifdzi on my lap. As I got home, he was asleep. So I thought, I could leave him at home with Anis while taking Fathi to go buy some groceries. Unfortunately, he woke up as soon as I laid him on bed.

But fortunately, he fell back asleep half an hour later, along with Fathi and Anis. Wow... for the 1st time, everyone is asleep... I wanted to take Fathi, but since he was asleep and I couldn't wait for him to wake up, so I decided to go alone.

After getting everything I need, I got into my car, ready to go home. But suddenly, I couldn't start the engine. Oh no! Not again. It happened once, but fortunately that time hubby was around. But this time.... I remembered that hubby pushed the car to start it. So, I started pushing... in my mind, I need to get home to my kids. I didn't wanna be late. I was afraid that Hifdzi would wake up before I got there. So, I pushed... at first, the car moved slowly. But then, when it started to move down the road, it went fast. I ran, trying to get into the car... but it was too fast for me... then... booom!!!! Ya Allah..... no no no no.... my car hit another car.....

I pushed my car back, away from the other car, with the help from a nice guy passing by. I couldn't stop saying sorry, my car was dead!.... I felt like crying... I gave him my card (with my hubby's no on it), told him to call my hubby, I couldn't coz I left my phone at home, along with my kids and so on...

Alhamdulillah the guy didn't scold me, otherwise I won't know what to do... he even helped me to push my car to the road side. Then I took his no and walked home. He offered to drive me home, but I refused coz I wasn't accompanied.... so, I walked, then I ran.... and boy, the sun was sooooo hot that day!

When I got home, I was relieved coz my kids were still sleeping. I called hubby, telling him what had happened....

Few cuts on my hand... small matter...

The damages on my car...

There are some lessons that I can learn from this incident, very precious lessons...

~ ALWAYS bring my phone whenever I go out. Should the engine dies again, I would be able to call for help.

~ ALWAYS leave the car behind. Walk home! It would be safer.

~ Think about my condition rather than to think about other things at home that is definitely in a very safe condition, eventhough that 'thing' is my own kids coz I would be able to drive carefully when my mind is clear.

~ Be cool and ALWAYS apologize when making mistakes. Avoid from getting angry (even if I was the victim) coz anger NEVER solve anything.

Despite the accident, I was so glad and grateful that :

~ The car that got hit was larger than mine.

~ It was a car instead of a boy/girl or a motorcycle or a bicycle.

~ My kids weren't in the car when it happened (if they were, then I won't be pushing it).

~ Most importantly, NO one got hurt.

.: Be grateful of what you have... or what happen to you... because everything happen for a reason... I take it as a 'Kifarah' coz as a human being, we do make mistakes, whether we realize it or not :.
